Minister for Industries, Shri P Rajeev, inaugurated the company’s office today in the presence of Pradeep Nair, CTO, Armada; Anish Swaminathan, VP Engineering; Sarath Chandran, Head India R&D; A P M Mohammed Hanish IAS, Principal Secretary (Industries); and S Harikishore IAS, MD, KSIDC; among others.
In his address, the Minister noted that the company can leverage the potential of the state capital which is the hub of life sciences, space and defence technologies. He added that the team of Armada can act as ambassadors of the state’s IT ecosystem and they can bring more MNCs to Kerala.
Pradeep considered several locations in India before choosing Thiruvananthapuram, a decision influenced by the presence of top engineering schools in Kerala. His vision is to enable budding engineering talent in Kerala to collaborate with Silicon Valley’s best engineering talent. Additionally, he aims to provide opportunities for senior IT professionals from Kerala, currently working in other states, to return to their home state and lead the work on cutting-edge technology products.
“The company, started 18 months back in the Silicon Valley, plans to recruit 100+ engineers in the next few months. We hope to increase the combined strength in India and the US to about 500 in the next few years”, he added.
Armada’s flagship products include the Edge, a full-stack modular data centre solution that brings industry-leading computing to remote sites in a ruggedized, mobile form factor, and EdgeAI applications.
Recently, Armada announced a $40 million funding round led by M12 (Microsoft’s Venture Fund), raising its total to over $100 million. Armada has deep collaborations with Starlink and recently signed partnerships with Halliburton, Aveva, Skydio, and many others to enhance its offerings and distribute Armada’s solutions globally.
